More granularity for Retention Rule

To be able to choose directory(ies) in Retention Rule to have more flexibility. Most of the time, needs are to create a retention set on specific directory, not all the filespace.
SP well know all the backed up directories and files from a node. This information is then used when we launch the local restore GUI. So, it should also be used by retention rule to choose some directories and not other.

This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.

    Hi,

regarding GPFS, yes, independent fileset could be done but that means Fileset will be backed up twice : one time with a daily retention (28 days) and another time with a weekly retention (4 months). And on a GPFS cluster, there is a lot of files and capacity, so too much space used in SP backend and SP database.

Lack of granularity remains with needs out of GPFS.

    Thank you.
