Configuration of the ISP client 8.1.9.0 in a clustered environment (AIX and Linux).

Configuration of the ISP client 8.1.9.0 in a clustered environment (AIX and Linux).

As stated in TS003354444 it does not work though we follow the instructions in "https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSGSG7_7.1.0/com.ibm.itsm.srv.doc/c_cluster_aix.html".

We put the ISP client node configuration files (dsm.sys etc) in a shared directory but the certificate db files (dsmcert.kdb) in /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin64 remain in this local (not shared) directory.

An example of our configuration can be found in TS003354444.

As a result the the ISP client can not be started after a PowerHA take over on the second cluster machine as the certicate db files (dsmcert.kdb, etc...) are not available there. The certicate db dsmcert.kdb containes the certificate(s) of the ISP server instance and this is needed to start the client.

Solution might be to store the certificate db dsmcert.kdb in the directory specified by the ISP option passworddir.

    Hello,

sorry 4 delay - i was not notified about your question / comment!

Yes, i was talking about the BA client and the first article:
    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEQVQ_8.1.9/client/t_cfg_clus_cfgunx.html

However, the support team informed me about this APAR:
    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/IT27375
And the testflag C2S_CERTDIR, which actually helped to solve the case - however this flag is just workaround / temp fix or how can i understand the APAR?

    Cheers,
    Andreas
