Stop File Content Backup on ACL Change

Currently when an ACE is changed in an ACL it will cause the full file to be backed up again in TSM.

For example, if we have a 200GB file and we change 1 ACE in the ACL it will cause the content of the 200GB file to be backed up again when the content has not changed.

We want only the ACL to be backed up, not the file content. This is stopping us securing our data because we then need to back up terabytes of data when we have only made small top-level ACL change.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

Why was this RFE rejected? We are using ACLs on Linux side, and it is a huge burden for us. Unfortunately, we are locked in to Tivoli right now, but we are actively looking for an HSM / backup product that offers this feature.

Thank you for submitting this enhancement request, we do understand the requirement and the rationale behind it but unfortunately we currently do not plan to implement this function
