Support Database volumes on NFS

Even though using NFS is supported by DB2, it is not supported nor recommended for TSM.

The following show the supported devices for DB2
https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21470193

The following shows TSM's support
https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21470193

Using NFS for database volumes on supported filers would greatly help with the management and resilience of the database. It would also help when hardware snapshots can be used for database backups as per RFE 13782

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

    the link above say:
" Although DB2 supports NFS, even with a Tivoli Storage Manager Version 6 server, it is not recommended to place the database or logs on a volume that is mounted through NFS."
this means that while this configuration is supported for use with TSM we recommend that you don't use such configurations due to performance and resiliency issues that might occur, so before deciding to move forward with such configuration you have to carefully weigh your options and be aware of its side-effects.
I'll circle back with the team and see if there's any kind of verbiage change that we can use to clear up that statement in our documentation.

Can I get that in writing?
Previously when I mentioned it to support they said that it is not supported hence the RFE.
Who should I ask to make that reference clearer to reflect your comment that it is supported, just not recommended

Thanks for submitting this enhancement request, as you've mentioned our guidelines  are published in the following link: https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21470193
this documentation clearly states that this is not a recommended configuration but it is a supported configuration.
