Native tape control - Offlload to Tape without Spectrum Protect

Our internal teams and Business Partners have been working to position Spectrum Protect Plus (SPP) to either existent and new clients but there is a commom claim that for new clients, it is absolutely important to have SPP performing the Offload to tape functionality enabled, specially for the mid and smaller ones. We see issues to compete offering two different products (SPP + Protect) to a mid /small customer. By the way, competition is able to do this with a single view/interface, so now seems that this is a "must have" for all clients.
For existent IBM Spectrum Protect customers, competition is bringing a speech of simplicity, for both implementation and usage. So our clients are not intended to spend money on complex implementations, even though they know this is a great product. That's why we want to offer SPP only.
So, at least locally, in order to have SPP well positioned to the market, we see the need for this functionality: doing offload to tapes without Spectrum Protect

    IBM has evaluated the request, and has determined that it can not be implemented at this time or does not align with the current multi-year strategy. This request may be resubmitted for consideration after 18 months from the date of submission. The request submitter will automatically be notified by email when the request qualifies for reconsideration and resubmission.
