    IBM has evaluated the request, and has determined that it can not be implemented at this time or does not align with the current multi-year strategy. This request may be resubmitted for consideration after 18 months from the date of submission. The request submitter will automatically be notified by email when the request qualifies for reconsideration and resubmission.

    See IBM Power Virtualization Center for LPAR config backups, clones, deployments.
    See IBM Spectrum Copy Data Manager for SAN clones, backups, etc.

    Base OS recovery of PVC, CDM, DSMSERV, and NIM would need to be from hard media, with manually created LPARs.
    Hard media could be mkdvd, Sysback, Storix, or Cristie BMR images

    CDM could back up the PVC disk into TSM, but there's no integration between the two.

    Careful planning is needed to make sure you are never left in a chicken & egg situation.
