This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.

    Hi.

I believe it does solve the issue regarding being able to install with custom names. I must admit that I would have like to be able to change the whole nodename, not just pre- and suf-fix, but this function will give us the ability to change the custom names.

BUT I still think we have an issue regarding the automatic resetting of password for nodes that already exists on SP Server - If you install SP for Hyper-V and points backup to a SP Server that already have the nodes registered, the installation should at least stop and provide information about the nodes already exists or something and you must provide something (password or the like) before you can continue. The resetting should not be done automatically.

Please take a look at this function introduced in Spectrum Protect 8.1.6 to see if it provides what you need:

Please post a response to this RFE once you evaluate it.
