System: IBM TSM BA Client
Actor: TSM Administrator
Need: Update TSM BA Client
TSM BA Client is used to backup and restore critical business data on thousands of servers nightly.
Update the TSM BA Client for all Unix Platforms to backup and restore Guard Point File Systems ( secfs & secfs2) created by encryption software (e.g. Vormetric) to backup without any special configuration of the dsm.sys.
In today environment where hackers are continually trying to obtain critical business data, companies are deploying encryption software daily.
Each time a Guard Point file system is created or deleted, the dsm.sys file must be updated. This is a manual step, which means it may be missed or done incorrectly.
The unfortunate thing with backups, is you don't know something is not backed up correctly until a system is down and you find the data is not available for recovery.
