Releasing space in DB

There is a manual method to Releasing space in DB2 9.7 table spaces. (Online Reorg)
Run analyze_DB2_formulas.pl data.
And run db2 alter tablespace for tables that can free desirable space (from output of above perl script).
This step could be embedded to run automatically in future versions of SP. This way we can avoid manual work and human errors while working with DB2.

IBM has evaluated the request, and has determined that it can not be implemented at this time or does not align with the current multi-year strategy. I do 2 full Backup DB processes each day and have an SP 'monitor' script watch the transaction log to see if it is filling; in which case I trigger another Full Backup DB process. I haven't had a DB transaction log space issue in some time but I also add ~3 volumes to bring DB utilization (filespace) down to ~70% whenever it grows to 80%. I do need to split to multiple instances and will do so asap.
