This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

I was VERY surprised and as a customer - and former IBM partner supporting TSM - when I heard of the dropping of Solaris support. Since so many larger organizations still use Solaris for "heartbeat" applications for their enterprise. I understand the competitive nature of this decision - but still think it was a poor one - and if I was still an active IBM partner I would have made several phone calls.
I was also surprised I did not hear about this survey until today - and we've had IBM "cadence" calls for about a hear now. Maybe I missed it in a time or two it was mentioned - but it was clearly not highlighted to us.
Please reconsider this decision - and make your partners and customers comfortable again with TSM/SP as a mainstay product. Over the last 15 years I've been installing, implementing and supporting it It has served us VERY well - until this.
IBM has evaluated the request, and has determined that it can not be implemented at this time or does not align with the current multi-year strategy.
