Subject: IBM I backup to Spectrum Protect (TSM)
Jose and all, The TSM APIs for IBM i are owned, developed and supported by the TSM team; now and into the foreseeable future. Those APIs are end of life and would only be supported through a service extension from TSM. Any requests for future attachment to IBM i will need to be channeled through the TSM development team. The link for TSM RFE process - IBM RFE Community is a way to engage. Thanks for the link Mervyn! With two critical GA's looming over the next 2 months and a very challenging 2017 ahead, the BRMS team does not have the bandwidth to engage on this topic.
Thank you, Jeff

IBM has evaluated the request, and has determined that it can not be implemented at this time or does not align with the current multi-year strategy. This request may be resubmitted for consideration after 18 months from the date of submission. The request submitter will automatically be notified by email when the request qualifies for reconsideration and resubmission.

We recommend customers still use BRMS however they should target something other than Spectrum Protect.
