This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

I want to skip a sub-folder on a Windows drive (or a sub-directory on
a Linux file system) from the TSM client incremental backup process.
When I say 'skipping a sub-folder', I mean not to back up this sub-
folder starting from tonight but not to inactivate/expire this sub-
folder's previous backup. I know we can use the 'exclude.dir' option to
exclude a sub-folder from the backup process, but the 'exclude.dir'
option will inactivate or expire this sub-folder previous backup. This
is not what I want to do. Also I know I can use 'domain' option to skip
a Windows drive (or a Linux file system) from the backup process; but
the 'domain' option cannot skip the sub-folders (or sub-directories).
Our TSM client is 7.1.0.3 on Windows 2012 server or on Linux Redhat
server. Our TSM server is 7.1.3.0 on Linux Redhat server.
I have told this not possible by any version of TSM client; so please add this feature to the coming new TSM client. Thanks.

I don't see the use case, why would this be a good thing to have?
