This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

When the password of a client node expires on the TSM server node, the client node is able to automatically set a new password when passwordaccess is set to generate. However, this does not work if the password expires while a client node is in the process of running its backup. New consumer sessions that are opened during the course of a backup (in relation to the value of the resourceutilization parameter) can connect to the TSM server node and receive the notification that in the mean time the password has expired. These sessions are not able to generate a new password and thus the backup terminates with an error message. So in order to have a successful backup, one must be lucky that the password of the client node does not expire during the course of the backup. The effect of this problem is amplified when the value of passexp is set to a rather low value on the TSM server node.
