Request to add native Sybase Support to Spectrum Protect (DP for Sybase)

Sybase produces Enterprise class RDBMS solutions for a variety of uses cases and industries. While perhaps not as pervasive as MS SQL or Oracle, the product does appear fairly frequently in customer environments. While there are a variety of methodologies that exist today to protect that family of products none of them are directly linked with Spectrum Protect, or supported by IBM Systems, and either involve significant customization effort on the part of the MSP or the customer to use product native tooling or OS level scripting to create a backup solution; or require the purchase of third party software and the associated licenses from a 3rd party vendor who may not be available in all procurement situations. Having an IBM Systems developed, supported, and maintained solution for the product would be very useful and potentially help MSP's position Spectrum Protect in accounts and opportunities where a customer requires Sybase support where today, an MSP may favor to go with another Enterprise class backup tool that does have native Sybase support.
