define clientaction - change of default values

The define clientaction command, if executed without any parameters, starts an incremental backup on all nodes in all domains. This is potential risk because the administrator can make a mistake and press enter key before entering any parameters. This can cause following:
1. many backups executed unintentionally
2. possible performance problems for the customer
3. incremental backup executed on nodes which are not intended to run incrementals (e.g. dedicated TDP nodes)
4. SLA can be affected

The command's default values should change so that domain and node name would be required values. That would make the command much safer. The domain and node name parameters should allow wildcards so that it would be still possible to start backup on all nodes in all domains at once.

TSM has commands that have little external impact and that mandate multiple parameters and reqyuire a Y/N response to the 'Are you sure' (AYS) prompt.

Define Clientaction which mandates no parameters can, by the use of pre and post sched processing, shutdown production applications and databases at any time.

While we do not need the 'Are you sure' when we supply parameters it is probably the most career limiting command in TSM without parameters and that is the only time we need the AYS prompt

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

Unfortunately at this time, we will not be delivering a solution as requested in the next year or to focus on different strategic areas. There have been some updates with backup redrive operations and scheduling visibility via the Tivoli Storage Manager Operations Center that provides some relief however we do understand this does not completely address the point you described. If you would still like us to reconsider after our next release of the product, please open a new request.

Thank you for submitting this enhancement request, we plan to provide this functionality in a future release of TSM this will more likely be delivered together with changes to other "default" values.
