VMware Backup Support for Vapps using Vstorage API & Exclude Raw Device Mapping Disk

The DSMC client using the "Backup VM" command fails to see and backup any virtual machines on a ESXi v4.1 server. This is somewhat critical for a Enterprise environment where we use Vapps to manage our servers! The Vstorage API shrinks the backup window, using VCB is not a option.

Also the VM's that have Raw device mappings with the Vstorage API are now ignored, VCB would just ignore them and back up the VMDK's, which was awesome because the Raw Device Mappings are backed up via the TDP clients (ie, SQL and Exchange), can we get this so we can exclude the Raw Device Mappings in a VM?

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Tivoli
    Product family - Storage
Product - Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Family

Thanks for submitting this enhacement request, with the latest release (TSM for VE 6.3) you can actually exclude pRDMs from the backup, we also plan to address the vApp requirement in a future release of TSM
