The enhancement of the status of the backup job on the TSM Operations Center

System: TSM Operations Center(OC)
Actor: The user who wants to check the status of the backup job on the TSM OC.

The TSM OC is a new console of Tivoli Storage Manager.

Description: When we run the backup commands (jobs) using the TSM B/A client (CLI), we can see only the total number of active sessions and how many files were successfully backed up or unsuccessfully backed up on the TSM Operations Center (OC). There is little information about the backup job.

So, we'd like to see not only the success or failure of the backup of the file/VM but also a real-time status of the backup job in more detail on the TSM OC.

In addition, we'd like to see which job (e.g.filepath) is being backed up and which job was successfully backed up or unsuccessfully backed up, and the backup speed of the job on the TSM OC.

In the case of the VM, we know it's easy to check which VM was recently backed up, but it's impossible to check a real-time status of the backup when we don't use the TSM scheduler.

    This request may not be delivered within the release currently under development, but the theme is aligned with the current multi-year strategy. IBM may consider and evaluate any RFE Community feedback for this request through activities such as voting. IBM will update this request in the future.

    We will continue to add more status and more monitoring of backups and status in the Operations Center.
