SVC integrated Host Free backup

Integrate the TSM backup agent with SVC/DS*/V7K storage technologies to allow for block based backpup similar to TSM for VE * CBT.

This would likely be done by leveragingcurrent Flashcopy technologies which already maintain bitmaps of change blocks and use this information to perform the data transfer direct to the target storage device in TSM ( Ideally via the SAN ).

This would be of particular use for file servers, or applications with millions of files that are too large for the standard BA client, or the Journaling agent.

    After further internal discussions, this request appears to be in alignment with our current strategy. We will look at targeting this for a future release though plans and intent are subject to change. We will update this request with more information as plans solidify.

    Thank you for submitting this request. A private email communication was sent to you today to provide information regarding our Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager solution which provides application-awareness to hardware based snapshots from devices like SVC, DS8K, XIV, Storwize V7000 as well as from other hardware vendors. If, after reviewing the communication sent, you feel the requirement still is not addressing the problem you would like us to solve, please provide more details regarding the problem / use case / scenario to this RFE.
