This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This sounds like a bug, it reminds me of the old stale nfs handles that didn't go away after the connection had stopped usually because of an open file. I would think there would be a cleanup after a timeout of the data structures.
When we try to add a new data connection which fails (either via REST API or via web interface) a new directory under /nfs-scanner/ gets created and stays even if the qtree can not get mounted. When we retry adding the same connection a new directory with a new uuid gets created
Expectation: When a data connection can not be created and mounted the directory /nfs-scanner/ should get removed. Given the large amount of qtrees at Airbus, more than 30000, we see a problem with lots of useless directories under /nfs-scanner. Every time a data connection can not get created a new directory is created. It is possible to keep /nfs-scanner/ clean of not working dirs?
