VMware VM I/O Performance data should be available

Today TPC/VSC offers agentless integration with VMware ESX, however no performance data, other than the SAN volumes or ports that the ESX server is using are recorded. I would like to see TPC record basic virtual machine I/O performance data for VMware ESX - this can be accessed via the standard VMware APIs and therefore does not require an agent. Our SRM competitors already do this - such as SolarWinds Storage Manager.

Thank you for your suggestion. This use case fits within our strategic direction, but we do not currently have it in plan for a near-term release.

The most important feature we require is to be able to monitor disk performance down to the VMDK layer as in most cases we have multiple virtual machines on a datastore, and monitoring at a LUN level is not enough.
