This is under consideration by the IBM team. We understand why root access is not preferred, but have dependencies on the Spectrum Scale team for our potential implementation.
Headline must be corrected below . This RFE is to support sudo wrapper so that non root user can be used.

Spectrum Scale performance data collection with non root user with sudo-wrapper configured in Spectrum Control
Description:
When Spectrum Scale/ESS storage is added using non root user, performance data shows "Not Supported" with sudo-wrapper configured. Only root user can pull performance data in current design. There have been some requirement using "non root" user.

Spectrum Scale cluster with configured sudo-wrapper environment can not be managed with Spectrum Control or Storage Insights. This configuration is not supported since mmdsh commands are needed to collect various configuration information from the Scale Cluster.
This RFE is very important from a security point of view. If client's RFP need this function, we can not make proposal.
