Shorten wait time of LEADM/EEADM Operation while LTO-9 Optimization

Software: Storage Archive LE/EE


Condition: when user run format new LTO-9 media, this kicks LTO-9 media optimization, and user use IE slot to import media to Library while optimization.


Problem: User must wait LEADM/EEADM operation, such as "show tape list" very long time. A customer is waiting LEADM operation for 20-60 mins at LTO-9 media format(this kicks optimization), and he is very inconvenienced with this behavior.


Request:

Could development team shorten this wait time while LTO-9 optimization? Objective is 30sec or less.

Impact:

No improvement about this, we'll loss large Storage Archive broadcasting company customer in Japan. This can lead to loss of tape H/W business.

    Customer is very inconvenienced about this design. Could you improve this for customer and new offering?

    System is working as design, as LE inventory requires to lock all resources. When user peforms IO slot operation or other library movement, it automaticallty kicks off LE inventory.
