Reclaim process improvement

Every week, our team needs to export tape to an offline vault.
Our use case involves having a large # of tapes that are not fully utilized.
Thus, we like to consolidate these tapes into a few tape (as few as possible) before exporting them to offline vault.
The current reclaim option does not support target option, making consolidation difficult.

Can we select target tapes for reclaim process ?

For example Can we have command like
Where -t stands for target ?

eeadm tape reclaim 100003JD, 100103JD, 100130JD, 100148JD -p researchOffsite -l PDC_IBM_ARCH1 -t 100004JD --async

Please consider to use mountlimit setting of pool so that the migration will not distribute the data to large number of tapes. If the mountlimit is set to N (say, 1), the migration will attempt to fulfill the first N tapes even if there are more drives available and leave the remaining drives for other purpose (such as recall or migration to other pools). This will eliminate the need of two stage approach; 1) migrate to many tapes first and 2) consolidate the scattered data to single tape by reclaim command.

Alternatively, if you already have a large number of partially-used tapes, use "eeadm tape datamigrate" command to move the contents between the pools. Create a new pool 'exported' and assign one tape (or a few tapes). Then use this new pool as the destination with -d parameter of datamigrate.
