Exchange large files (> 4GB) between Spectrum Scale and Spectrum Archive clusters

ZF has the requirement to exchange mainly large files (> 4GB) between Spectrum Scale and Spectrum Archive clusters in Germany and Poland. The capacities to be exported are up to 500 TB per day. The requirement is that the files that are exchanged remain in the source cluster in Germany.
We looked at two Spectrum Archive EE functions for this:
1. Tape offline: Allows to premigrate the files to tapes and set the tapes offline. However, tapes that are offline cannot be imported in the destination cluster.
2. Tape export: allows to premigrate the files to tape and export the tapes. However, the export will remove the files from the file system. Premigrating to two pools and exporting one pool would leave the files in the source file system, however, it requires more tape drives.

ZF needs a function that copies the files to tape and export these tapes while leaving the files in the source file system. The files shall not be (pre)migrated, just copied to tape without leaving a trace in the file extended attributes.

The development is considering the alternative approach. Keep the stub file at the export command if the file is in the premigrated state, and make it back to resident rather than removing the stub file. This should eliminate the need of 2 copies.
