This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

I do strongly encourage this idea as we will also shift away from VMware as soon as possible.

Just my 0,02 €/$:
IBM should also consider, there is some activity to leave VMware for oeconomical reasons.
Due to Broadcom changing the license terms this spring, these activty is raising and many extisting IBM customers have to face this situation -- especially with regard to existing backup requirements and backup solutions already running.
The backup of virtual machines with kvm can so far only be carried out with a lot of manual scripting (triggered as PRESCHEDCMD using ISP) or additional software like "storware Backup & Recovery" [1].
I therefore call on IBM to implement (at least) native support for KVM backups as well in Defender Data Protect as in ISP.
But in view of the broad interest (not only in the academic and non-profit area) in Proxmox VE as an orchestration and management environment, integration with Proxmox should also be possible.
