Convert a root fileset to an independent fileset

With AFM working only with independent filesets and not with root fileset, a customer that is hosting some data that needs to be replicated on its root fileset and that needs to transition to AFM will need to migrate (copy/move) all the data on the root fileset to an independent fileset. Ideally, it would be good (and save weeks/months of migration) to have a mechanism to convert a root fileset to an independent file set (or AFM should support root filesets).

    Thank you for submitting this Spectrum Scale enhancement request. We have reviewed the request, and although it is a good candidate, it is not on our roadmap for the foreseeable future. Please note the way this could be accompished today is to copy the data over manually into a new independent fileset
