Disable the Spectrum Scale GUI service without disabling the REST API service in Spectrum Scale

Bank of America is a tier 1 segment client that adopts lots of IBM technologies. At this moment, they are adopting Openshift and making its way into the corporation. To feed this openshift environment, the containers need to access a shared filesystem. Of course, Spectrum Scale is a potential and preferred solution by both the client and IBM. Specifically, the Container Native Storage Access (CNSA) functionality was votes to be the best-in-class solution to use with Openshift environments. This puts Spectrum Scale at the center of the bank's Openshift strategy. The challenge that IBM faces to make this a reality is the fact that the CNSA functionality relies on the REST API Spectrum Scale features which is part of the Spectrum Scale GUI component, and the GUI component is forbid to be used at the bank per global bank's guidelines. If we want to make Spectrum Scale's way into the bank's Openshift environment, we must find a way to address the fact that they disallow GUI services without the prejudice of the REST APIs. This RFE request is for being able to turn off the Spectrum Scale GUI service without, in turn, needing to also turn off the REST API service. That is, we need a way of controlling the GUI and REST services on/off switches independently of one another.
