mmdf needs an option to not reach out to all remote clients

On our very large environment, mmdf will take hours to run. This is apparently because the ESS cluster will reach out to our thousands of remote clients to verify accuracy of its statistics. Worse the entire system slows down while this is occurring (minutes long waiters are normal)

I request an option to only use statistics that come from the local ESS cluster which should result in a runtime on the order of a few seconds instead of hours.

In fact, this mode should be the default.

    Data could also be collected frequently in the background and cached so that mmdf can simply display the cached data. Add another parameter to collect accurate up-to-date information.
