Support SMB Persistent Handles

Hi,
When trying to copy files using rsync via SMB shares exported by Spectrum Scale, we are experiencing errors after session disconnection\ces node failovers.

currently, scale does not provide persistent\durable file handles.

we are kindly asking you to add this functionality as soon as possible.

    Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:

    We have generally the same need. But it is not only because of the rsync but more to allow failovers from one node to an other node without having all the issues you get when a smb connection on a client with open office files gets closed and reopend on a different IP Address.
    Reason for Failovers are:
    Maintanance, temporary load separation, and software events causing failovers.

    This RFE will probably require lease support for SAMBA/GPFS. This means that we need also an RFE for this support.
