This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

If a KVM host runs GPFS client and mounts a filesystem from a gpfs cluster.
The KVM host runs a VM which uses a container file stored in the same file system under a independent fileset named kvm01 which is under the root fileset.
The VM operates as expected.
If the VM also has a GPFS client and also mounts the same file system (thus is part of the same cluster), it should work, right?
Wrong.
If I go to another GPFS data client (not KVM host nor VM) and unlink a fileset on the same file system in another location (i.e. not under the kvm01 fileset), the VM freezes and the file system freezes for all GPFS data clients using that file system. Corrective action is to expel the GPFS client of the VM.
Once I expel the client, the file s t is unlinked and I can even link it and unlink w/o issue. The issue returns when I reboot the VM and attempt to unlink a file set.
Bear in mind the file set I am trying to unlink is not the kvm file set, nor is it a filet set under the kvm file set. It is a dependent file set under an independent file set that is under the root file set.
Again, see TS003291090 for the details
