Spectrum Scale GUI & API should support nested groups with LDAP/IPA authentication

Using nested groups (objectclass=nestedGroup) is a common feature of modern directories (e.g. Active Directory, FreeIPA/RedHat Identity Manager, and IBM Tivoli Directory Server ) and make it much easier to manage group memberships by adding a group (a user group containing users) as a member group of another group (an access group which is authorised to access a resource or service), which makes the members of the member user group indirect members (indirectMember attribute on a group) of the top level access group.

In the case of the Spectrum Scale GUI & API, nested groups are not supported, so indirect members of the access groups are not authorised.

Could we please have support for IPA authentication that supports nested groups and indirect group membership?

    We inherit this capability from Websphere, and will implement it when they make it available
