Support Red Hat IPA for mmuserauth

Red Hat IPA / FreeIPA is an identity and authentication source similar to Active Directory. It has LDAP for user information, and kerberos for authentication. It can integrate with Active Directory through trust and replication, and will then contain both UNIX uid/gid and Windows SID (ipaNTSecurityIdentifier).

Please support IPA as an identity provider for CES.

As more and more users transition to the new infrastructure provided by RedHat (and IBM company). This is coming up more often. The competing FS (weka, lustre, BeeGFS) have embraced this. If IBM want Spectrum scale to remain relevent they should consider this enhancement.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - IBM Spectrum Scale
Product - Spectrum Scale (formerly known as GPFS) - Public RFEs
    Component - Product functionality

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - IBM Spectrum Scale
Product - Spectrum Scale (formerly known as GPFS) - Public RFEs
    Component - V4 Product functionality

Yes, we tried the standard LDAP support. But IPA has deprecated the samba schema extension, and then hasn't populated the entries mmuserauth expects to find in LDAP. The same attributes are available under different schema. F.ex. mmuserauth expects to find the SID in sambaSID, but this is available as ipaNTSecurityIdentifier in IPA.

    Other "samba" attributes mmuserauth require:

    sambaPasswordHistory
    sambaNTPasssword
    sambaPwdLastSet
    sambaAcctFlags

which I suspect are not strictly necessary, or could be mapped to other IPA attributes.

Have they tried configuring it through our standard LDAP support? If that does not work, a request to Red Hat to enhance IPA to work as an LDAP provider is recommended.
