GPFS filespace update

GPFS runs the mmbackup which does not update the backup start and backup end parameters on the tsm client node. This parameter is updated when a regular node runs a backup. The backup for a GPFS node runs a selected backup and does not update the filespace parameter.I use this parameter to verify the node was updated during each nightly backup.

This request is not possible to achieve within mmbackup. The TSM system maintains the time stamps described by the request ONLY internally by its own scan and incremental backup mechanism. If a file list is provided and selective mode is used there is no scan therefore no way to update these time stamps. TSM would have to first have a work-request to expose an interface to change these time stamp values before mmbackup could achieve the request.
