[BDA] Hadoop transparency, Support for native Ranger encryption

Moving in to container based workloads we see many use cases for SCALE integration in to Hadoop. At the moment we are missing one critical functionality and that is the use of object based encryption trough Hortonworks Ranger with Scale Transparency. HDFS Transparent Encryption provides full Separation of Duties when integrated with Apache Ranger for key management and Access Control. At the moment the only way to use encryption is to use SCALE encryption. Then you move the control of the data from the application owner down to the storage infrastructure layer and that is a security risk and is not accepted by customers where they have outsourced the Infrastructure including storage services.

    This is planned to be available in hdfs transparency 2.7.3-4, around the end of Oct.

    this has been available in HDFS Transparency 3.0.0 for HDP 3.0
