Need a configurable timeout value for IBM Spectrum Scale replication

When a V7000 disk failure occured, whole RAID5 array couldn't complete I/O request from AIX OS at all, for about 100 seconds.
After 100 seconds, the failed drive was removed from the array, then V7000 returned to normal operation and responded to AIX.

The system configured as DB2 purescale with GPFS replication.
At this environment, GPFS continue to wait I/O completion from both V7000 storage as long as 180 seconds.
After 180seconds passed, AIX would give up the failed disk resource, then GPFS can operate only by another storage.
“180 seconds” is a minimum timeout value depends on AIX device driver, and GPFS doesn't have a configurable timeout value.

If GPFS replication had had a configurable timeout value that we could set like 30 seconds,
customer application could have recover to operate after 30 seconds passed, and haven't affect their factory operation.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - IBM Spectrum Scale
Product - Spectrum Scale (formerly known as GPFS) - Public RFEs
    Component - Product functionality

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
Brand - Servers and Systems Software
Product family - IBM Spectrum Scale
Product - Spectrum Scale (formerly known as GPFS) - Public RFEs
    Component - V4 Product functionality

Can these timeouts be managed at the AIX or driver level?
