Need scalable way to determine if remote file system is mountable (JUMP Trading LLC)

The `mmlsfs` command is used to determine if a node is able to mount a remote file system as part of our systemd Spectrum Scale service startup scripts. However the `mmlsfs` command appears to communicate back to the Cluster Manager node in order to determine this capability. When we have thousands of nodes attempting to make this determination at the same time then the cluster manager node becomes overwhelmed and the process becomes basically deadlocked. There are many common web-scale solutions for handling this kind of data dissemination and Spectrum Scale needs to provide this kind of facility to support thousands of simultaneous requests.
