This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

AFM-based DR support a “--norestore” option when invoking
# mmafmctl <filesystem> failoverToSecondary –j <fileset> --norestore
e.g.
secondary# mmafmctl kyc2 failoverToSecondary -j sec02 --norestore
Primary Id (afmPrimaryId) 1494233589149940577-B840458754BD53C0-10
Fileset sec02 changed.
Promoted fileset sec02 to Primary
to ensure that the secondary is NOT rolled back to the point-in-time of the last RPO snapshot. This is essential if RPO snapshots are only be taken every 24 hours, else you might lose up to 24 hours of data when the rollback occurs.
The protocol replication management script mmcesdr does NOT currently support the --norestore” option when it invokes “mmafmctl <filesystem> failoverToSecondary”
The RFE is to request that that support is added to mmcesdr to avoid rollback to the last “RPO”/failover snapshot when failing over to the secondary.
Note that I am aware that mmcesdr already has another "no restore" option, but that only affects the protocols configuration information (only NFS and SMB) and does not do anything to the data itself.
