Starting with ESS release 6.1.0, planned for 4Q2020, the ESS and Scale v.r.m.f release numbers will align as follows:
v (version) will be different between the two, and will always be larger for ESS than for Scale. The version number for ESS will increase whenever the included Scale version increases, and it may also increase at other times if there are other major changes to the ESS offering.
The r.m (Release, Mod Level) will match: the ESS r.m will reflect the values from the included Scale version.
The f (Fix Pack) will be specific to ESS and Scale separately.
This the 6.1.0 release of ESS will include Scale 5.1.0, 6.1.1 will include 5.1.1, etc.
We cannot keep the numbers aligned, however we will find a means to easily identify the correlation between ESS versions and Scale software versions
