Verify NFS Port Availability Before Attempting CES Recovery

Request an enhancement to IBM Storage Scale CES NFS recovery to verify that the required network ports have been fully released before attempting to restart the NFS service.

During an incident documented in case TS022452203, NFS-Ganesha became unresponsive and CES attempted automatic recovery before TCP/IPv6 port 2049 was available. Two consecutive restart attempts failed with "Address already in use" errors.

After these failures, CES stopped retrying, marked the protocol node as failed, and migrated its CES IPs to other nodes. Manual intervention was required to restore normal service.

IBM Support identified this as a race condition between the NFS shutdown process and port cleanup and confirmed that Development is working on improvements to the recovery logic.

Requested Enhancement:

Verify required port availability before attempting NFS recovery.

Retry recovery once the ports become available.

Prevent premature restart attempts from exhausting automatic recovery retries.

Improve logging when recovery is delayed by unavailable ports.
