Support QLC drives in ECE

Currently,SSS 6000 is support TLC+QLC tiering solution.

ECE didn't announce the similar feature. The trends is mixed TLC+QLC in one cluster as tiering solution. The shortage of TLC flash drives has also driven the adoption of tiered storage architectures combining TLC and QLC flash drives.

Our major partners in China are looking forward to the launch of this feature for their end users so they request IBM to announce this feature asap.

The QLC drive in ECE only acting as warm layer and TLC drive is serve to applications' IO.

As QLC has less DWPD than TLC,so ECE need to add endurance monitoring metrics in mmhealth framework. If there is no plan to support endurance metric in coming release, they also can monitoring the wearing life with crontab or other approach.

In summary,partner hope IBM release the TLC+QLC tiering solution in 2H26 asap.
