Add Functionalities for Storage Scale

Storage Scale functionality is needed in Storage Insights. This will give customers a Single Pane of Glass in administering and monitoring their Scale Clusters. Currently, The Storage Insights account needs root privileges in order to operate within Insights. This is a non-starter with most customers especially financial institutions. The functionality should be possible with sudo, dzdo or centrify privileges.

This is useful as currently Customers are unable to Add Storage Scale to their Storage Insights because of the lack of the functionalities. As a result of why on the Storage Insights Telemetry, File Storage systems shows a less that 1%.

Once the above functionality challenges are resolved, needed features are: 

•Single pane of Management for all Scale and Scale Systems

•Single pane of Management for Storage and Client/ Application clusters

•Co-relation/ Grouping of all client clusters and storage cluster from where file systems are remote mounted

•Co-relation/ Grouping for all tenant clusters and storage cluster in case of multi-tenant environments

•Co-relation/ Grouping for all Storage clusters and Containerized client clusters (CNSA for Openshift or K8S)

•End to End management from Scale Client Clusters to Disks

•Co-relation from Scale clients to Storage Cluster to Block Storage (across stack performance monitoring, problem determination)

•Co-relation from Scale clients to Scale System / ESS physical disks

•AI ops for Scale and Scale system environments

•Capacity forecasting

•Workload placement

•Ransomware Detection

•Performance Deviation
