Process and automation to simplify the patching and software update of large node count clusters

Managaing the the currency of Spectrum/Storage Scale systems are difficult when you have over 1000 nodes within the cluster in question.  The request is for the process and automation for both the local repository and cluster endpoints where upon reboot, each node would query the repository node to determine if the loading of patches, software or firmware were required based on various urgency flags.  The endpoint automation would either automatically or with minimal intervention impliment either the patch or update on the target system.  The process would have to be able to support multiple verions of the content and also be able to back out patches if they were unsucessful.  By automating this process the difficulty of having mixed software and patch versions would allow the clusters to remain more current and therefore stable.  Tools like requested would also improve the velocity of change for the customer and reduce the opportunity for errors in the update or patching process.
