Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

Request for extra RHEL8 packages in ESS

We have a list of OS packages that we would love to have included in ESS 6.x.x.x, now that we no longer can install any RHEL package like we could in ESS v5. Inclusion of any of the below packages is helpful for us, if you say no to some packages but yes to others.

Emacs, many sysadmin's favourite editor ;), packages:
- emacs-common
- emacs-nox

Build environment, so that we easily can rebuild some in-house packages for the ESS:
- autoconf
- automake

We need to handle PGP keys with passphrases on our servers, package:
- pinentry

I have a feeling you may say no to Ruby, but I will take the chance and request it. We use Ruby to deploy some configuration that need to be on all our servers, packages:

- ruby
- ruby-devel
- ruby-irb
- ruby-libs
- libselinux-ruby
- rubygem-bigdecimal
- rubygem-did_you_mean
- rubygem-io-console
- rubygem-json
- rubygem-openssl
- rubygem-psych
- rubygem-rake
- rubygem-rdoc
- rubygem-xmlrpc
- rubygems
