Limitation on DS8880

IBM team,

I need to see if I can request an enhancement for the DS8880. As you know, we have the Atos North American Mainframe Hub (NAMH).

We ran into an issue that I have PMR 59316,227,000 opened for an issue that we are having for our client 7-11 and HCSC.

On the Source Serial Number (GHT60), the both share logical control unit (LCU) 0A.

HCSC is using volumes 0A00-0A76. 7-11 is using volumes 0A77-0AEF.

Our client HCSC has its own Global Mirror Session and also client 7-11 is using it own GM Session.

7-11 has gone production into the Atos NAMH and is running and consistent.

We are in the process of testing HCSC in the NAMH. When we started to HCSC Global mirror, the volumes in LCU 08 and 09 are in consistency and Global Mirror is active,

But the volumes that are in 0A fail with an error. There are 119 volumes that are in error.

In the PMR, I am being told that the limitation is with the DS8880.

What can be done to allow multiple sessions against a single control unit? Otherwise, we are going to run out of control units.

Especially, since we have some small clients that only have 120 volumes. I have wasted half of the control unit (240 base with 16 aliases).
