MUFG Bank, previously it was BTMU, is planning to improve fault tolerance in the zLinux DB environment, and for that reason Mirroring Contoroller which is the function of Fujitsu DB Symfoware Server plans to cope with server failure as well as storage failure.


DS8000's two options are required to support the function of Mirroring Contoroller, those are following the two types of setting for the secondary volume of Metro Mirror in CKD format

1.Allow Read only for transferring DB log files

2.Allow the both Read and Write for exchanging control information of DB mirroring


The above two functions have been possible for Fujitsu Eturnus storage before.
