DS8000 REST API Enhancement to Include HMC Settings

We are having to self-audit our inventory of DS8K to ensure they conform to company Information Security Standards and it would help us immensely if a script can collect HMC settings from each DS8K and compare to expected values using  REST API queries. Any deviances would be reported to the hardware team. Settings we are having to check include:

  • SYSLOG server defined
  • SNMP trap destination defined
  • Callhome server enabled using SSL proxy
  • SMTP server and port defined
  • Two NTP servers defined
  • Remote authentication policy in effect
  • LDAP group to roles correctly mapped
  • Local 'admin' password not expired
  • Password rule conforms to company standards
  • Recovery key state is configured (if not using internal key manager)
  • Company CA-signed SSL root and intermediate certificates are in the repository
  • Imported CA-signed SSL certificate not expired <-- Already requested in another idea
