Definitely required - I vote for it
I am in full support of the idea, several customers are asking for longer, cheaper retentions. The tape backups would have to be Full volume, very hard for customers that have 10's of thousands of volumes. Could the Diamond Back come into play? TCT to the TS7 has issues and keeping up your CV lpar to backup 10-15K would take a long time. I am still in favor as I see the need building.
A must as more and more businesses adopt the technology.
A MUST have features, differentiating us from the rest of the field. A Logical+Physical airgap if can push to TS4500 attaching to TS7700-VTL.
Great idea, would be good if it could eliminate the tape management system requirement (RMM) and overheads involved by writing directly from DS8K to TS7700 to a range of predefined volumes.
Would help in the instance where you are running a z Cyber Vault configuration and want to dump a validated copy to tape for retention. Without involving the overheads of installing the Tape Management system on the KR-SYS lpar.
