Implementing other message codes for SNMP trap 221

The client configuration is using DS8900 with Safe Guarded Copy

At the moment when they see an SNMP trap trigger for trap 221 they only receive Message Code 10, which is telling them it's already removing space.

7 = warning watermark

8 = space exhausted

9 = physical space constraint relieved

10 = safeguarded backup removed to reclaim space

 

Client would like the ability to modify the SNMP trap trigger so that they receive Message Code 7, with a warning at a defined threshold so that actions can be taken before it moves to the removing space stage.

Also would it be possible to have the ability to set multiple thresholds ?

    Idea rejected. The threshold can be adjusted via ?poke?. We suggest to use a ?pokeable? that can be set by IBM support. The poke would set the threshold level for the warning watermark. The current default in Release 9 is 85%. With the help of IBM support, this threshold can be set to a lower level.
