This portal is to open public enhancement requests against IBM System Storage products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Currently we have a GDPS Metro Mirror environment that is being expanded with LCP in a Metro Physical Airgap solution.
So we have PPRC Metro Mirror between RS1 -> RS2 and Global Mirror between RS2 -> RS3.
In our GDPS Metro Mirror environment (RS1 -> RS2 ) we were able to use FR Fast Replication (Flashcopy) technology with keywords FASTREPLICATION(PREF/REQ) and FCTOPPRCPRIMARY(PRESMIRREQ).
However, this is disruptive now we added the GM for our LCP environment.
Message/situation “GEO662E Global Mirror session consistency group failure.” will occur as the LCP environment cannot take a consistent capture as long as the Flashcopy sessions are still active on the RS2.
For now we have no other choice then to completely disable any invocation of Fast Replication as business requirements are focussed on timely captures in the cybervault.
However the need for Fast Replication function remains.
