Need for support the combination of AIX 7.2 TL5SP4 and DSCLI in a Japanese language environment.

After updating AIX7.2 TL1SP2 to AIX7.2 TL5SP4, DSCLI doesn't display Japanese characters (Shift JIS, IBM-943) correctly.

Support personnel explain that it is known as a limitation of S-JIS and advised to use English or UTF-8 instead of S-JIS.

However, my customer wouldn't like to use DSCLI in an English language environment or UTF-8.

They claim that it should be working as before updating AIX TLSP.

They will have to pay much costs and workloads to modify their scripts because they use hundreds of customized scripts written in Japanese.

    We had already open a ticket (TS011181671) and got an answer that said this was a problem of DSCLI and had not a plan to fix. So I opened this "idea". Please review the ticket and consider again.

    This is an AIX problem not a DS8K problem. This is not a request for enhancement, it´s a defect so it should be treated as CMVC. Please, you need to open a ticket.

    I got a mail that shows the status of this idea has changed to "Needs more information". What information do you need ? I could not find any request for this idea.
